Wanneroo and Wests Scarborough will meet in a rematch of last year’s Women’s Fortescue Premier Grade Grand Final after securing convincing Semi-Final victories.
Wests Scarborough delivered an outstanding nine-try performance to defeat Cottesloe 59-5 and book their place in the Grand Final.
MacAskill, Wilkinson, Heta, Puki, Hiini, Palelei, Marama and Healy all crossed the line, with Wests also awarded a penalty try. Heta completed an impressive individual performance by adding six conversions.
Cottesloe continued to fight despite the growing margin and were rewarded with a try through Cleary. However, they were unable to slow a Wests side that displayed its attacking quality throughout the Semi-Final.
The dominant victory sends Wests Scarborough back to the Grand Final, where they will have another opportunity to challenge Wanneroo for the premiership.
Wanneroo kept their premiership defence alive with a 29-17 victory over Kalamunda in the second Semi-Final.
Waterson led Wanneroo’s try-scoring effort with a double, while Kifayatullah, Wigley and Petia also crossed to complete a five-try performance. Kifayatullah added two conversions as Wanneroo built the advantage needed to progress.
Kalamunda remained competitive, with Heke, Ruru-Hinaki and Kereopa each crossing the line and Ledington adding a conversion. However, Wanneroo held firm to secure the 12-point victory and a place in the decider.
The results set up a repeat of the 2025 Women’s Fortescue Premier Grade Final between Wanneroo and Wests Scarbrough. Wanneroo prevailed in last year’s decided and will now have the opportunity to defend their premiership on their home ground, while Wests will be looking to reverse that result and finish their season with the title.
