At RugbyWA, community connection is at the heart of everything we do - and it’s partnerships like the one with SLW Transport that help power meaningful progress, on and off the field.
A proud supporter of inclusion and leadership development, SLW Transport has partnered with RugbyWA to back two landmark initiatives that are shaping the future of women in rugby. Earlier this year, SLW Transport played a key role in funding 15 female coaches to complete the Emerging Coach Course on International Women’s Day - a critical step in RugbyWA’s mission to increase female coaching representation at every level of the game.
Now, they are once again standing behind the next generation of changemakers, supporting Grassroots to Global Connect, a global leadership event held in conjunction with the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup in Sunderland, England.
Selected to represent Western Australia on the world stage, Evan Konwawi Stacey, a passionate community coach and advocate for women and girls in rugby, will join Sarah Du Plessis, RugbyWA’s General Manager – Community, at this international forum hosted by ChildFund Rugby and World Rugby. Their involvement highlights not only WA’s leadership in women’s rugby development, but also the power of local partnerships in driving real change globally.
With support from SLW Transport, Western Australia continues to lead the way - hosting the first Grassroots to Global Forum in the country, creating new coaching pathways, and making sure community voices are heard in international conversations about the future of the game.
Partnerships like this go beyond a logo. They represent a shared vision - one where access, equity, and opportunity are not just goals, but realities. SLW Transport is helping ensure that rugby in WA is not only growing - it’s transforming.
