The RugbyWA community will get used to seeing a new form of technology out on the field this season, with HUDL Cameras landing at all Premier Grade Clubs.
HUDL cameras have been rolled out across Premier Grade clubs, signaling the start of a new era of technology within the RugbyWA community.
HUDL cameras provide an automated system which tracks and films gameplay, changing the way teams can capture, organise, analyse and learn from film and data to improve their performance and develop the game.
The HUDL cameras are a game-changer for RugbyWA, enhancing Premier grade competition and community engagement by providing high-quality match footage for player development, tactical analysis, and coaching improvement. This technology raises the standard across all grades, creating further visibility and engagement that sharpens skills and enhances game understanding.
Beyond competition, these cameras benefit the wider rugby community by offering increased visibility, fostering development, and strengthening club engagement. WA is leading the way in grassroots sports innovation, ensuring both elite and community players gain valuable insights.
The investment in this technology comes in conjunction with Premier Grade clubs, providing clubs with both the equipment and technology to review and analyse performance throughout the season.
RugbyWA’s General Manager – Community, Sarah du Plessis, said: “RugbyWA’s partnership with HUDL is an important step forward, reinforcing our commitment to rugby excellence and long-term growth.
“Providing access to such innovation within our community will allow for continued player development throughout the competition, and reflects a dedication to investing in technologies to enhance out game and the services offered by RugbyWA.”
HUDL cameras are now in use at all Premier Grade clubs during game day, and will assist not just with club development, but in the process of streaming throughout 2025. With club cameras online during Premier Grade games, all games will be streamed live on Rugby Xplorer for the community to engage with and watch, no matter their location.
In partnership with DoubleTake, one game per round will also be streamed live on Stan.
The Premier Grade season kicks off on April 5, 2025.
