RugbyWA Announces Labrador Petro-Management Donorship with the Rugby Foundation of Western Australia.

The Rugby Foundation of Western Australia is thrilled to receive the support of Labrador Petro-Management, providing vital funding to key initiatives for the growth and sustainability of the game.

Labrador is a specialist consulting firm with extensive experience across local, national, and international oil, gas, and energy projects, offering drilling and completions consulting, project management, and regulatory navigation services.

Labrador Petro-Management will support two initiatives led by the Rugby Foundation of Western Australia, designed to support marginalised communities, and encourage the participation of those in low socio-economic environments.

Labrador Petro-Management will support the Women in Rugby program, aiding in the advancement of women’s rugby by providing opportunities for women to participate in coaching, officiating, and leadership development. The company’s investment into the Women in Rugby program will directly contribute to the upskilling of female coaches and leaders, supporting RugbyWA’s goal of growing equity and representation within the sport.

Additionally, Labrador Petro-Management has committed to providing seed funding for the RugbyWA Boot Project, a pilot initiative aimed at supplying essential footwear to junior players experiencing financial hardship. This contribution will enable RugbyWA to launch the project and ensure that young athletes have the gear they need to participate safely and confidently, helping remove cost as a barrier to involvement.

Chairman of the Rugby Foundation of Western Australia Board, Sean Lee, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Labrador Petro-Management for their generous support of the Rugby Foundation of Western Australia.

“Their dedication to creating more inclusive and supportive pathways within rugby reflects a genuine commitment to community impact. Through their backing of the Women in Rugby program and the RugbyWA Boot Project, Labrador is helping us create meaningful pathways for participation and leadership, especially for those in our community who need it most.”

Chris Wilson, Managing Director and CEO of Labrador Petro-Management, said: “At Labrador, we’re proud to stand behind initiatives that create opportunity, inclusion, and leadership within our community. Rugby is a global game that unites people of all

backgrounds, and we believe no child should be denied the chance to participate because of financial hardship.

“Supporting the RugbyWA Boot Project and the Women in Rugby program reflects our commitment to building stronger pathways - especially for those in underrepresented and marginalized communities. We’re particularly passionate about growing female leadership within the sport, creating role models who will inspire the next generation. With Australia entering a golden decade of rugby, it’s today’s grassroots players who will shape the future of the game, and we’re honored to play a part in that journey.”

The Rugby Foundation of Western Australia’s purpose is to financially support the growth and love of rugby in Western Australia across the entire ecosystem. Committed to fostering growth, inclusivity, and excellence within the rugby community of Western Australia, the Rugby Foundation has injected $1.6 million into grassroots rugby over the past 7 years.
