As cost-of-living pressures continue to rise across Western Australia, access to community sport is becoming increasingly challenging for many families.

From registration fees to travel and equipment, the true cost of participation is adding up, particularly in regional communities where distance only amplifies the challenge.

At RugbyWA, we see this not as a barrier, but as an opportunity for meaningful partnership.

Through the Rugby Foundation of WA, initiatives like the Boots Project and the Regional Subsidy Program are helping remove these barriers, ensuring more players can access the game, regardless of their circumstances.

The Boots Project provides players with access to essential equipment, giving young athletes the confidence to step onto the field without the burden of upfront costs. At the same time, the Regional Subsidy Program supports clubs and participants in regional areas, helping offset travel and participation expenses that can otherwise limit involvement.

These are simple initiatives, but their impact is significant.

More players on the field.  Stronger clubs.  More connected communities.

Importantly, these programs are made possible through the support of our partners.

This is where partnership moves beyond brand visibility.

It becomes about enabling access.  Supporting families.  And contributing to healthier, more connected communities across Western Australia.

For businesses, this presents a unique opportunity to align commercial objectives with genuine community impact, supporting initiatives that deliver measurable outcomes both on and off the field.

As we look ahead to rugby’s Golden Decade in Australia, ensuring accessibility to the game will be critical to sustaining growth and maximising the opportunity in front of us.
