Round 13 delivered another weekend of high-scoring contests, with five entertaining matches across the Fortescue Premier Grade Men’s competition.
Wests Scarborough strengthened their position in Conference B with a 47-23 victory over Joondalup Brothers. Hooper, Munro, Cakaubalavu, Fotheringham, Saili, who crossed twice, all found the try line for Wests. Pinker added two conversions and two penalty goals, while Hooper also converted. Brothers responded through a double to Tuialii, with Tarawa contributing two conversions and three penalty goals.
Cottesloe claimed a 33-24 away win over UWA in Conference A. The visitors crossed five times through Kaho, Smart, Robinson, Mounsey and a penalty try, with Taylor converting three. UWA remained in the contest with tries to Browne, Davies, O'Callaghan and McEntee-Walters, while Young added two conversions.
Palmyra outlasted Wanneroo 44-30 in another entertaining Conference A clash. Mahaki and Leilua both grabbed doubles, with Asiata, Bissett and De Wet also crossing the try line. Morgan and Robertson shared the kicking duties, while Wanneroo responded through Ross, Saumaki, Taoipu and Asi, with Mainwaring adding two conversions and two penalty goals.
Nedlands produced the biggest score of the round, defeating Associates 57-24. Sangiorgi, De Lange, Leavasa, Marshall, Cakobau, Sheminant and Pschorn all crossed, while Louwrens added a double. De Lange was outstanding with the boot, slotting six conversions. Associates stayed competitive through tries to Valleyé, Evans and Sherriff, with Pieters converting all three and adding a penalty goal.
Perth Bayswater edged Kalamunda 47-36 in a thrilling Conference B encounter. Uili crossed twice alongside tries from Saulala, Kini, Binnion and another player. Heuer proved influential with four conversions and three penalty goals. Kalamunda matched Bayswater for much of the contest through tries from Welsh, Houkamau (2), Kinzett, Treffery and another player, with Jordan converting three.
Community Rugby takes a break this weekend, but the action continues at HBF Park with a historic double-header.
