Fortescue Women's Premier Grade Round 6 Recap

Round 6 of the Fortescue Women’s Premier Grades saw some high scores and tough defeats, as the competition continues to get hotter. 

With the teams having settled in for the 2025 season, it’s proving to be tough competition, especially with the return of Western Force SuperW players to the local competition. With a weekend of massive score differentials, the competition is proving to be tough for all sides. 

At Tompkins Park, Palmyra saw a convincing win over UWA, with a 30-point win over the side. Awhina Heke saw a dominant performance in the matchup, scoring a hattrick by the 48th minute, alongside stellar performances from Kendra Fell and Melehifo Allana Sikimeti. UWA saw one of their best performances yet in the 2025 season, with Sara Kifayatullah putting nine points on the board for her side.  

Tries for Palmyra were scored by Fell (9’), Heke (13’, 19’, 48’), Sikimeti (17’, 34’), Rebekah Herenda-Carroll (29’) and Riley Smith (39’), with two conversions completed by Fell (10’, 18’). For UWA, tries were scored by Hannah Begley and Kifayatullah, who also completed two conversions for the side. 

 

Scores in the Women’s Community Xs proved to be tighter this weekend, with close games and big performances throughout the grade.  

Down at Lark Hill, the Rockingham Flyers saw a solid win over Perth Bayswater, with huge performances from Cheyenne Campbell and Sharni Glover putting the side ahead. With both Campbell and Glover coming off the bench, the team was strong against a powerful Bayswater side. 

Tries for Rockingham were scored by Millicent Williamson, Chelsea Finnerty, Campbell (3) and Glover, who additionally completed three conversions for the side. For Bayswater, tries were scored by Ayesha Mali, Flavia Panariello and Moesha Cooper. 

 

The Senior Women’s competition continues next weekend, with RugbyWA’s annual Belt Up Round taking place across all competitions.  

Pride Round will also be taking place down at UWA, with the side taking on Wanneroo in their annual celebration of inclusivity within the rugby community.
