The Fortescue Women’s Premier Grade enters Round 11 this weekend, with Wanneroo Divaz set to take on UWA at Kingsway Sports Complex.

Emerging from a Round 10 draw against Palmyra, Wanneroo are looking for another win to keep their coveted top position on the ladder securely in their grasps.

The 17-17 score showed the strength of the Palmyra side as they continue to push the top teams, holding a dominant Wanneroo at bay to level the scores. Tries for Palmyra were scored by Claudia Foster (23’) and Zarah Suamili (66’), with two conversions (24’, 63’) and a penalty (67’) from Kendra Fell. For Wanneroo, tries were scored by Mya Renee Walker, Ai Dickson and Tamika Jones, with a conversion from Lucy Lockhart.

Having had a strong season thus far, Wanneroo are looking positive ahead of the finals. The former Premiers have proven to be difficult to beat once again in the 2024 season, with last week’s draw the only blemish on an otherwise perfect run through the last ten rounds.

For UWA, coming up against Wanneroo follows a loss to Wests Warriors last weekend, as the side searches for their first win of the 2024 season. Finishing the match 5-53, UWA’s try was scored by Monique van de Berg.

UWA is still searching for their first win of the 2024 season, currently sitting at the bottom of the ladder. Their first season in the Fortescue Women’s Premier Grade has been difficult, but their growing scores shows the side gaining confidence, and hopefully moving forward to be a finals contender in 2025.

Kickoff for UWA v. Wanneroo is set for 3:10PM this Saturday at Kingsway Sports Complex.

After a big win against UWA, Wests Warriors will be coming up against Cottesloe Shegulls at Bennett Park this weekend.

In their 5-53 win, tries for Wests were scored by Amy Harrison, Daisie Smith, Erin Jackson, Brooklyn Joyce, Mania Broadbridge, Rianna Pocsidio, and Tizanae Kovacs, who scored a hat trick. Conversions were completed by Valuese Tiakia (4’, 11’, 15’) and Tizanae Kovacs (45’).

Sitting just below Palmyra on the ladder, Wests will be searching for a win to make up the six-point difference between the sides. With five wins and five losses so far this season, the stacked side will be looking to take Cottesloe down for the second time this season, with their last meeting ending in a 26-38 victory for the Warriors.

Kick off between Wests Warriors and Cottesloe Shegulls is set to kick off on Saturday at 2:20PM at Bennett Park.

In Round 11 of the Community X’s, Perth Irish are set to come up against Rockingham after a 10-27 loss at home to Mandurah Pirates.

Tries for Perth Irish in Round 10 were scored by Caroline McGlone and Tamara Lee.

Coming up against Rockingham, Perth Irish are set for a challenge, with the last time the two sides faced being in Round 1. Then, Perth Irish suffered a 20-37 loss to Rockingham at home – ten rounds later, they’re in Rockingham’s territory.

Rockingham saw a 24-29 victory last weekend over Palmyra/UWA, with tries for Rockingham scored by Apia Tutu (2), who also completed two conversions, as well as Tracee Daniels and two others. For Palmyra/UWA, tries were scored by Danielle Van Jaarsveld (2), who also completed two tries, as well as Gabby Muir and one other.

Perth Irish and Rockingham will meet this Saturday at Lark Hill Sporting Complex, with kick off set for 4:00PM.
