A heart-racing Round 16 sets the scene for this week's Fortescue Premier Grade with some ripping games of rugby ahead.
Last week showed us how volatile a top 4 spot is. Second place Nedlands dropped out of the four and into fifth place. Topped placed UWA are taking on a red-hot Associates at McGillvray Oval. Soaks are looking for their 7th straight win this week to help secure their spot in the top 4. The last time these two teams met, Soaks got the best of UWA 35 - 30 in Round 11. Third place Perth Bayswater is hosting second place Wests Scarborough at Pat O'Hara in a thrilling contest to stay in the top 4. Wests got up over PBW the last time they met in round eight, 31 - 20. Nedlands is hoping to sneak back into the top 4 as they take on reigning premiers Cottesloe in this week's Stan match. The two teams drew in round 12, with Cottesloe kicking a penalty goal late in the game to make the score 10 - 10. The FMG Premier Grade Division 2 has some cracking games ahead. We will get a sneak peek into what could be the finals of Division 2, with Wanneroo hosting Palmyra at Kingsway Sports Complex. A last-minute try wasn't enough for Palmyra when these two teams met in round one going down 27 - 28. Southern Lions will be looking to close the gap on second place as they take on ARKS at Harrisdale Pavillion. Joondalup is looking to redeem themselves after a tough loss last week as they travel to Hartfield Reserve to take on Kalamunda. Four rounds left before we hit finals in the Fortescue Premier Grade, and everything is on the line. We have some cracking games this weekend, we look forward to seeing you there!
