It was a weekend of nail biters in the Fortescue Men’s Premier Grade as the competition completed Round 6.

Down at the Boneyard, Allen Park, Associates reminded the Fortescue Men’s Premier Grade exactly why they are the reigning Premiers, losing by just one-point to competition-dominant Nedlands. A drastic change from their Rendezvous Hotel Perth Scarborough Challenge Cup performance against the side, Associates put up a strong fight, holding Nedlands back from the runaway victories they have become known for. The final score saw Associates (26) defeated by Nedlands (27).

Tries for Associates were scored by HD Stemmet (2), Ethan Stratton and Lachlan Phillips, with three conversions by Ian Prior. For Nedlands, tries were scored by Tama Anderson (2), Jesse Hutton and Adam Marshall, with two conversions and one penalty conversion from Brayden Laing.

Down at Tompkins Park, Palmyra scraped through with a three-point win, in a surprise battle from Wests Scarborough. With penalties galore, the two-try difference didn’t stop Wests Scarborough from almost defeating the consistently dominant Palmyra, with Ross Cadzow clocking an impressive 5 penalty conversions throughout the match. The final score saw Palmyra (30) defeat Wests Scarborough (27).

Tries for Palmyra were scored by Benjamin Smith (13’), Braden Stewart (27’), Potu Leavasa (45’) and Rhys Morgan (59’), with two conversions (13’, 45’) and two penalties (65’, 74’) from Matt Mckenzie. Tries for Wests Scarborough were scored by Daniele Cakaubalavu (19’) and Jonah Placid (39’), with one conversion (19’) and five penalty conversions (12’, 15’, 36’, 49’, 59’) from Cadzow.

Across town at Harrisdale Pavillion, ARKS celebrated their 50th anniversary with a huge win over Bunbury Barbarians. With a huge celebration in the books and the whole club, from juniors through to seniors, playing at home, it was a big day for the club.

ARKS’ Championship side put on a show for their home crowd, dominating Bunbury Barbarians with an 82-10 victory. With a huge 12 tries scored by ARKS, and 11 conversions, the reigning Championship Grade Premiers reminded the competition of their skill and strength, putting themselves back in the game for the 2025 season.

Tries for ARKS were scored by Peter Nanai (2), Naca Koroi (2), Ashlee Wilson, Maxwell Hall, Anthony Sellers (2), Criag Halliday, Lucas Baker, Angus Brown and Kain Pook. Conversions were scored by Wilson (10) and Brown.
