RugbyWA is pleased to announce its new partnership with Electrical Group Training as a Supporting Partner of the Female Academy Programs, Female Under 16s and Under 18s Representative Teams, and of the South West 7s and WA 7s tournaments.
Electrical Group Training (EGT) is Western Australia’s largest employer of electrical apprentices. EGT directly employs apprentices and places them with a network of host employers across the state, giving them valuable on-the-job experience while they complete their training. This model provides businesses with a low-risk, hassle-free way to expand their workforce in a sustainable and flexible way, while ensuring apprentices receive the support, stability and quality training needed to build lifelong careers in the electrical trade.
Under the agreement, Electrical Group Training will become the Supporting Partner for key Female Pathways programs, helping to grow development opportunities for Junior Girls, in addition to two key 7s tournaments on the West Coast 7s calendar, the South West Summer 7s and WA 7s, supporting one of the fastest growing female sports as it continues to increase in popularity within Western Australia.
RugbyWA Chief Executive Officer, Simon Taylor, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Electrical Group Training as a Supporting Partner of our Female Pathways programs and 7s tournaments. Their commitment to developing future talent aligns perfectly with our mission to create inclusive, sustainable pathways for women and girls in rugby. This partnership will help us continue growing opportunities for young athletes across the state, while strengthening the foundations of one of the fastest-growing formats of the game.”
Electrical Group Training General Manager, Stuart Diepeveen, said: “We’re proud to partner with RugbyWA to support the growth of women’s rugby in WA. This partnership reflects our shared commitment to creating opportunities for women to reach their potential—whether on the field or in their careers. At EGT, we’re passionate about encouraging more women to consider the electrical trade as a rewarding and lifelong career path, and we look forward to a long and successful partnership that supports the goals of both RugbyWA and Electrical Group Training.”
