Round 12 of the Women’s Fortescue Premier Grade competition delivered two nail-biting finishes, while Wanneroo continued their strong form with a commanding victory over Palmyra.

The weekend also marked Think Mental Health Round, encouraging the rugby community to check in with teammates, start a conversation and support one another both on and off the field.

Wanneroo produced a clinical performance to defeat Palmyra 41–0. Petia crossed twice, with Tuhua, Banza, Kifayatullah, Ah-sam and Kani also finding the try line. Kifayatullah added three conversions to complete the comprehensive win.

At Pat O’Hara Reserve, Perth Bayswater held on for a thrilling 43–39 victory over Southern Lions. Rasaku led the way with a hat-trick, with Muavou, Munro, Panariello and Burzawa also crossing. Munro kicked three conversions, while Rasaku added another.

Southern Lions pushed Baysie all the way, with Ross scoring three tries and converting twice. O’Shea, Rule, Hunt and Laverack also crossed in a high-scoring contest decided by just four points.

The closest result of the round came at Bennett Park, where Wests Scarborough edged Kalamunda 27–26. Marama, Garner, Lafu, Kovacs and Lees scored Wests’ five tries, with Garner adding a conversion.

Kalamunda came within a single point of completing the comeback, with Heke and Kereopa each scoring twice. Kereopa added one conversion, while Talau kicked two.

With two rounds remaining before the finals, there is still plenty to play for as the competition approaches the business end of the season.
