RugbyWA Welcomes New Staff Members

With the season well underway, teams begin to prepare for finals for the 2021 season with the help of a number of new staff to the RugbyWA team by their side.

Welcomed by CEO Nathan Charles, Jason Marrable and Hannah Peters join the team at the ever-growing organisation. Having vast experience in the sport, Jason Marrable accepted the role as the new appointment of Female Game Manager.

Jason Brings a wealth of experience in the development of sporting programs, having previously worked as the Inclusion and Participation Manager at the Associated and Catholic Colleges. Whilst additionally having a role at Tennis West as the Schools Development Coordinator. Jason has a Master of Science in Sport Management, obtained from the German Sport University in which he was able to develop his love and knowledge for the sport.

As well as tournament management experience, Jason’s previous background as a football coach delivering development programs such as ‘Football for Peace’ program in Israel and Palestine will allow him to focus on promoting female participation and growth in the game. Jason is an exciting asset to the team, having community Rugby experience as a player both in WA and Germany and more recently as an active referee for the WARURA.

“There are so many fantastic female athletes, coaches and referee role models currently in the Rugby WA community. I look forward to working with them to advocate for greater female participation in the game,” Marrable said.

“Rugby in WA has a passionate and inclusive community, and I am eager to work with clubs, coaches and wider stakeholders to grow the game”.

“I have loved being a part of referring female rugby over the past few seasons. Seeing the comradery, culture, enjoyment and talented players in our system is motivation in continuing to develop the game in WA”.

Working closely with Jason and the rest of the RugbyWA team, Hannah Peters has started her role as Social Media and Content Co-ordinator at the organisation.

Previously a media and partnerships officer at Motorcycling Western Australia, Peters brings knowledge in the sporting organisation sector and the drive of increasing brand and sport exposure. Having a passion for all things sport, the young University student has previously worked oversees in the British Superbikes Championship before making her way back home to seek out another passion of hers, Rugby.

“I am so excited to join the team here at RugbyWA, the environment and community is so positive so its incredibly beneficial for me as I look to grow my knowledge and background in the sport,”Peters said.

“Coming from a sporting background in addition to my love for Rugby, I think it has enabled me to create content that is engaging and relevant”.

Entering RugbyWA in a temporary position for communications, Hannah has integrated well into the staffing group and has shown dedication to the role.

“Although I entered late into the season, I can’t wait to be the point of call for all things communication between RugbyWA and clubs as I feel that giving clubs the ability to grow and better their communication strategies, so we can increase participation together”.

“I am eager to see what the 2022 season has in store for us, with so many exciting ideas in mind I hope to engage the rugby community as much as possible”.

Peters and Marrable have already joined the existing team and are already working within the rugby community.
