Former Welsh International Phil Davies jumps onto the RugbyWA Coaching Series

The now professional coach will be discussing the significance of ‘review’ as necessary and beneficial to player and program development.

Having an extremely impressive rugby resume Davis has accrued 46 caps for the red dragons before moving into the coaching space after which he has gain experienced in for over 20 years.

While coaching Davies has held many high established positions at UK clubs including Leeds head coach, Worcester Warriors assistant coach as well as Cardiff Blues and Scarlets Director of Rugby.

Davies has also coached at an international level including coaching the Wales U20s and taking Namibia to a World Cup.



RugbyWA Director of Rugby Steve Anderson touched on the importance of ‘review’ in coaching and was greatful Davies could share his 20 years’ experience with the WA rugby community.

“Critically review can be as simplistic or detailed as required but remains essential for your coaching program. What and how we apply a process of review is key when discussing program maturation and player growth,” Anderson said.

“Performance environments demand continual evaluation to keep pace with change such as player and staff movement, resourcing and achieving success.”

“Davies rugby experience and knowledge is second to none and his preparation for Namibia’s World Cup 2019 campaign will be of interest when discussing change as a result of constant review.”

Now the fifth video in the High Performance stream of the RugbyWA Coaching Series, Davies Knowledge will be invaluable for coaches looking to advance onto a higher level.

The live webinar session will air on Zoom on Tuesday the 18th of May at 5:30pm and will be followed by a Q and A session.
