Focussed on youth age-grade coaches Gilmore will be accompanied by RugbyWA Education Manager Dylan Parsons to discuss the national curriculum that was released early this year and it's relevance to 13-18 age groups.
Before coming into the national fold, Gilmore worked through the Reds youth set up and was the Junior Reds Head Coach between 2008 and 2010.
Following his stint as the 1st XV Head coach at Toowoomba Grammer School in 2014 he returned to the Super Rugby side as the Elite Development Head Coach, until he was promoted to assistant coach in 2016.
In 2018 Gilmore was named Junior Wallabies head coach and became Rugby Australia’s national academies coach.
In these roles Gilmore was able to lead his side to a historic win over the All Blacks U20s as well as a second-place finish in the Junior World Championships in 2019.
Parson’s explained the importance of having national level coaches on the age specific webinars and thanked Gilmore for his contribution to the series.
“It’s great to have yet another high-profile coach join the series,” he said.
“Especially for our youth age grade, I’m excited to see Gilly (Jason Gilmore) outline to our youth coaches what he is looking for in a Junior Wallaby."
“This will be an extremely valuable experience for any coach who signs on.”
The live webinar session will air on Zoom on Thursday the 7th of May at 5:30pm AWST and will be followed by a Q and A session directly after where coaches can engage with Gilmore directly.
This webinar is the second theme in the Age-Specific stream of the RugbyWA Coaching Series and will be available to be replayed on the RugbyWA website directly after the conclusion of the presentation.
RugbyWA encourages all coaches wishing to be involved to contact Education Manager Dylan Parsons at dylan.parsons@rugbywa.com.au to sign up and to be given access to the live-stream.
