With the Rugby World Cup kicking off this Friday, the Perth Rugby Village would like to extend a warm welcome to the rugby community in WA to come along and make the village the epicentre of rugby during the tournament.
The Perth Rugby Village aims to create an atmosphere where rugby fans of all competing nations can come together and enjoy the third biggest sporting event on the planet
There will be:
- Big screens - every match LIVE AND LOUD
- Pop Up Bars with International beverages
- Various food options
- Best dressed fan competitions with spot prizes #perthsbiggestrugbyfan
- Raffle to win a trip to the Rugby World Cup Final in Japan and other prizes
- Potential rugby clinics/touch matches on the adjacent playing fields
- Family friendly areas
Perth Rugby Village encourages the rugby clubs to reach out and get involved and put their mark on the venue by providing a club jersey to display at the venue to showcase their club and sponsors. There is also the potential opportunity to get involved with the BBQ/Sausage Sizzle and raise funds for their club.
The action begins this Friday night (20 September) with the Opening Ceremony and Japan vs Russia.
There will be Japanese Drummers - Taiko On - drumming up an atmosphere with International drinks specials.
Super Saturday is a mind-blowing day of back-to-back blockbusters - Wallabies vs Fiji | France vs Argentina | New Zealand vs South Africa.
The carnival continues on Sunday with Ireland vs Scotland the key match and England taking on Tonga.
Mitch Hardy and Mick Colliss will provide an insight into the match ahead of the Wallabies game.
The venue is Scarborough Sportsmans Club, 75 Deanmore Road, Scarborough and various community and rugby groups are involved in the organisation i.e. Sea of Blue, St Patricks Day Festival WA etc.
