Behind every try, tackle, and victory is a team you don’t always see – the people who make the game possible. Coaches shaping players from the guidelines. Match officials upholding fairness and integrity. Volunteers giving their time, energy, and heart to keep clubs running week after week.

RugbyWA’s Team Behind the Team shines a light on these game makers – the individuals who go above and beyond to grow and strengthen rugby across Western Australia.

Throughout the 2026 season, RugbyWA and WARURA will recognise outstanding coaches, match officials and volunteers from across the rugby community. Each month, one individual from each category will be selected and celebrated for their contribution to the game.

Nominate them to be part of RugbyWA’s Team Behind the Team and help us celebrate the people who keep our rugby community strong and thriving.

To be eligible: 

• Match Officials must hold current SMART Rugby and Season Ready accreditations and be registered with WARURA. 
• Coaches must hold current SMART Rugby and Season Ready accreditations and be registered with their club. 
• Volunteers must be registered in Rugby Xplorer as a volunteer with their club. 
• All nominees must demonstrate RugbyWA’s values of teamwork, excellence and respect. 

Submit their names, club and a short explanation of why they deserve to be recognised.
