Promotion Period
The Team Behind the Team campaign opens at 8.00am AWST on 25 March 2026 and closes at 8.00am AWST on 14 August 2026.
Eligibility
The campaign is open to eligible match officials, coaches and volunteers within the RugbyWA community.
To qualify, nominees must meet the following criteria:
Match Officials
- Must be fully registered with WARURA.
- Must hold current SMART Rugby and Season Ready accreditations.
Coaches
- Must hold current SMART Rugby and Season Ready accreditations. Must be registered with a RugbyWA affiliate club.
Volunteers
- Must be registered as a volunteer in Rugby Xplorer with a RugbyWA affiliate club.
All nominees must demonstrate RugbyWA’s values of teamwork, excellence and respect.
Nomination Process
Nominations must be submitted via the official RugbyWA nomination form.
To be eligible for reach monthly award, nominations must be received by the following dates:
- 27 April 2026
- 25 May 2026
- 29 June 2026
- 27 July 2026
- 14 August 2026
Nominations received after the relevant closing date will be considered for the subsequent nomination period, where applicable.
Each nomination must include:
- The nominee’s name and club affiliation
- A brief explanation outlining their contribution to rugby in Western Australia
- The nominator’s name and club affiliation
Nominations may be submitted by players, club members or members of the public.
Selection & Winner Determination
Each month, RugbyWA and/or WARURA will select:
- One Match Official
- One Coach
- One Volunteer
Winners will be selected based on their impact on the rugby community, commitment to RugbyWA’s values, and contribution to the game.
RugbyWA may also choose to recognise additional nominees or provide commendations where outstanding contributions are identified.
All decisions made by RugbyWA and WARURA are final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
Prizes
Each monthly winner will receive:
- A RugbyWA recognition pin
- A certificate of recognition
- Automatic entry into the grand prize draw
The grand prize is a trophy to their winning category.
The grand prize winner will be drawn at the conclusion of the campaign and announced at the RugbyWA Grand Final Breakfast on 27 August 2026.
Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or alternative prizes.
General Conditions
RugbyWA reserves the right to:
- Disqualify any nomination that does not meet these Terms and Conditions.
- Amend, suspend or cancel the campaign at any time without prior notice where necessary.
By participating in the campaign, nominators and nominees consent to RugbyWA using their names, images and nomination details for promotional and communication purposes, including website, social media and marketing materials.
Personal information collected as part of this campaign will be handled in accordance with the RugbyWA Privacy Policy.
Participation in the campaign constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
To the extent permitted by law, RugbyWA will not be liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered or sustained as a result of participating in the campaign or accepting a prize.
