RugbyWA is proud to partner with Nurse Assist 24/7 to deliver the Nurse Assist 24/7 TackleSmart Program — an innovative initiative designed to make rugby safer, more inclusive and accessible for players of all abilities across Western Australia.
Built on the belief that rugby is a game for everyone, the program gives players the opportunity to participate in a way that suits their individual needs, abilities and comfort levels, helping more people experience the enjoyment and connection that rugby provides.
The program uses a simple colour-coded headgear system, allowing players to choose the level of contact that's right for them:
- Black Headgear – Full Contact
- Yellow Headgear – Bear-Hug Tackle
- Red Headgear – Non-Contact
Players are matched with others participating at the same level, creating a safe and supportive environment where everyone can take part with confidence.
RugbyWA currently supports more than 90 players through its All Abilities program across Southern Lions, Perth Bayswater and Wanneroo Rugby Clubs, as well as 11 schools throughout Western Australia. With continued growth planned, the Nurse Assist 24/7 TackleSmart Program is helping ensure that rugby truly is a game for everyone.
