The expansion of RugbyWA into Geraldton, Northam, and the broader Mid-West and Wheatbelt regions represents a significant opportunity to grow Rugby Union in regional Western Australia.
We’re bringing the game of rugby to more regional communities than ever before. With a vision to grow from grassroots to game day, this expansion is more than sport – it's community building.
With a full-time Regional Manager based out of Geraldton, RugbyWA will service Rugby Union from Northam to Perth, building not only a workforce of casual roles, but also a flourishing rugby community engaging with the game.
RugbyWA will deliver rugby programs in Primary and High Schools across Geraldton, Northam and nearby areas, bridging the gap between community and classroom. With clinics, training and events, student involvement will be boosted, bringing the game directly to them.
Growing the game from the grassroots up, Tri Tag Rugby (non-contact) and Rugby 7s competitions in the Mid-West and Wheatbelt will be launched, providing a fun, fast introduction to Rugby Union.
Strengthening the connections between communities, RugbyWA will organise regional trips and events to bring the game directly where it’s needed, helping build community identity. The expansion into the Mid-West will foster a sense of community through sport, providing social, physical, and mental health benefits to residents.
With specialised coach and match official education, RugbyWA focuses on creating positive player experiences, fostering a sense of belonging and leadership amongst community members.
One of the fastest growing sports in the world for women and girls, RugbyWA will invest in female-friendly facilities and grassroots infrastructure, to provide opportunities and support the growing game.
All programs run by RugbyWA are culturally inclusive and support positive outcomes for all communities, creating a positive environment in the Game for All.
