In December 2024, the selected members of the Under 16 and Under 18s Junior State Girls travelled to New South Wales to take on sides from NSW Junior Rugby Union and NSWJRU Pasifika. The tour marked a vital step in building quality programs and experiences for young female athletes, and support those players involved in the touring teams in their rugby journeys.
Selection in the North, Central and South region representative teams is the first step in the RugbyWA player pathway. The RugbyWA State Championships are held annually and contested across two age groups: U16 and U18. The State Championships are held during school holidays each year.
Selection for these teams will be based on performances while playing for either club or school teams. The preparation period for these teams will be conducted throughout May and June.
