RugbyWA is set to host the Grassroots to Global – Women Inspiring Change Forum, supported by ChildFund Rugby and World Rugby.
RugbyWA is proud to announce it will host the Grassroots to Global Series: Women in Rugby Inspiring Change, a groundbreaking initiative that connects inspirational female rugby leaders from communities around the world to help shape a more equitable future for the sport.
This global series aims to amplify the voices and impact of women and youth already working to grow rugby in their local communities. By uniting these leaders, the program is driving positive change and supporting the shared mission of RugbyWA, ChildFund Rugby and World Rugby to accelerate the development of women’s rugby at the grassroots level.
Part of a Global Social Impact Partnership between ChildFund Rugby and World Rugby, Grassroots to Global (G2G) is a flagship program that provides female community leaders with the resources to build their networks and advocate for social change through rugby.
RuggbyWA will host the Grassroots to Global Forum at RugbyHQ in Perth, Western Australia, with the main forum commencing on Saturday, May 17, 2025. 25 Female rugby leaders aged 18 and over, including players, coaches, volunteers, administrators, referees, involved in grassroots rugby through to the elite level will be selected to participate in the Forum.
Following the national forum, one Grassroots to Global representative will be invited to travel to Grassroots to Global Connect, an international conference for Grassroots to Global leaders from around the world, held in conjunction with the opening match of Rugby World Cup 2025 in Sunderland, England.
The Grassroots to Global Series is more than just an event; it is a call to action for female leaders in rugby to come together and push for lasting change that will impact the future of the sport globally. With a focus on increasing the participation and retention of women and girls in rugby by encouraging more women in coaching roles, the forum aims to unite female community rugby leaders to drive action toward advancing gender equity in rugby.
The Forum will be supported by ChildFund Rugby, World Rugby and RugbyWA.
