Niamh O’Connor and Cinzia Donald are both set to depart the RugbyWA Board.

Niamh O’Connor and Cinzia Donald will both step down from their positions as Appointed Board Members of the RugbyWA Board of Directors.

Ms. O’Connor departs the RugbyWA Board after three years of service. She was appointed to the RugbyWA Board in October 2021, joining with a focus on junior participation and growing the game. Ms. O’Connor is the current Western Force Chief Executive Officer, and remains a vital participant in rugby union in Western Australia.

Ms. Donald departs the RugbyWA Board following four years of service. A partner at Lavan, Ms. Donald commenced her service in November 2020, and has additionally served on the RugbyWA Audit & Risk Committee. She departs the RugbyWA following the 2025 Annual General Meeting.

RugbyWA President, John Welborn, said: “On behalf of the RugbyWA Board, I would like to sincerely thank both Niamh O’Connor and Cinzia Donald for their significant contributions and unwavering commitment during their time as Board Members.

“Their leadership and guidance have strengthened the organisation’s governance throughout their service, and have provided invaluable in supporting the growth of the game across the state. We are incredibly grateful for their service and dedication to rugby in Western Australia.”

RugbyWA would like to thank Ms. O’Connor and Ms. Donald for their service on the RugbyWA Board of Directors, and for their dedication and commitment to the growth of the game throughout Western Australia.

Over the next month, RugbyWA will finalise the replacements of both Ms. O’Connor and Ms. Donald. Earlier this year, on behalf of the Board, the RugbyWA Nominations Committee conducted an Expression of Interest process aimed at identifying suitably skilled and knowledgeable candidates with a passion for our game that could contribute to our strategic growth and that were able to demonstrate alignment to RugbyWA’s Purpose, Values and Behaviours.

A number of candidates were identified as part of this process and the Nominations Committee and Rugby WA Board will work together in the coming weeks to finalise the appointment of a number of these candidates to the RugbyWA Board ahead of the May Board Meeting.
