Fortescue Premier Grade Round 14 Preview

Round 14 is shaping up to be a big Saturday of rugby, with multiple teams looking for redemption and improve their ladder position as we edge closer to finals.

The Round 14 Stan game will feature, two very fortunate teams who managed to sneak their way into the top 6, Associates (5) and Cottesloe (6) will be battling it out at Allen Park. The two teams will be playing for the RugbyWA Cup and bragging rights for the "Battle of Broome Street". Cottesloe got the better of Associates last time they met in Round 8 winning 22 - 17.

Cottesloe Coach Ryan Westaway said "Soaks is always a big matchup for us, it always is, but the boys are ready.

"I think it will be a forwards game this week, the weather isn't looking too pretty and it will be up to them to decide the match" Westaway said.

UWA (1) will be well rested after coming off a bye for their clash with Wests Scarborough (4) at McGillivary Oval on Saturday. Wests Scarborough scrapped into the top six in a do-or-die one-point victory over Wanneroo last week, knocking them out of finals contention. UWA outplayed West Scarborough in Round 5 winning 31 - 19.

Nedlands (2) will be facing Bayswater (3) at Charles Court Reserve. Both teams coming off wins heading into this week's match. Bayswater defeated Nedlands last time they met in Round 6, 20- 13.

The top 6 aren't the only ones fighting for glory, the FMG Premier Grade Division 2 will kick off this week. The teams who narrowly missed out on the top 6 will have a second chance for some silverware.

Palmyra will take on Kalamunda at Thompson Park. The last time these two played, Palmyra dominated Kalamunda 59 - 14. Southern Lions will be hosting Rockingham at Success Regional Sporting Facility. Southern Lions took a 36-22 win over Rockingham last time these two met.

Wanneroo who missed out on the top 6 with a tough loss to West Scarborough will take on bottom-placed Arks this week at Kingsway Park in the Round 14 Fortescue match live on Youtube. Arks will be looking to redeem themselves after the blowout 89-0 loss they faced to Wanneroo in Round 7.
