The Alcohol. Think Again Spring 7s Series is back again in 2019 with a few changes made to take advantage a jammed packed second half of the rugby year.
This year the competition will include two afternoon/night fixtures allowing players to come play during the week while not impeding on any NRC or World Cup fixtures.
The second and third series will be full day events aligning with the Junior 7s and the NRC to create a full day festival that combines community and pro-rugby.
Season prices and divisions are now set in stone for this year’s competition with prize money on offer for all divisions.
Teams will be awarded competition points following each round, the team in each division with the most points after all three rounds will be crowned state champions and take out the Alcohol. Think Again Spring 7s title.
This year the Spring 7s series will have four divisions comprising of only club aligned teams with clubs being able to enter in the Women’s, Open Men’s, Colts and Social Men’s divisions.
Spanning from high performance to afternoon fun the four divisions will allow any player in the community to join a team and play the level of rugby that suits them.
The Social Division allows players to get involved in the fun, exciting and friendly dynamic of 7’s rugby, focused at all skill types entering a club social team could be a great learning experience of the game or could be just a fun afternoon with the lads.
The Men’s Open and Women’s Divisions will include top WA clubs full of the top WA seven’s players as they at it for the state championship title, fancy yourself a good XVs or 7s player, contact your club and make sure they enter your team for a chance to be crowned the best in the state.
The Colts Division will showcase the best developing talent in WA coming out of the club XVs season, want to be apart of the next generation of 7s players maybe entering into a Colts team is for you.
