Junior Journalist Campaign - Terms & Conditions

Promotion Period
The competition opens on April 28, 2026 4:00 PM AWST and closes at 11:59 PM AWST on September 14, 2026.
Entries for the Western Force Junior Journalist experience (19 May) must be submitted by 11:59 PM AWST on 13 May 2026.
Entries for the Wallabies v Italy Junior Journalist experience (18 July) must be submitted by 11:59 PM AWST on 10 July 2026.
Entries for the Wallabies v Springboks Junior Journalist experience (27 September) must be submitted by 11:59 PM AWST on 14 September 2026.
Entries submitted after a specific experience closing date may still be considered for later Junior Journalist experiences, where applicable.
Eligible Entrants
- Entry is open to students aged 10 to 17 years as of July 18, 2026.
- Entrants must be currently enrolled at a school participating in the RugbyWA School Ambassador Program.
- Entries must include parental or legal guardian consent.
- Only one entry per person is permitted.
- Open to Western Australian residents.
How to Enter
- Submit a 15–30 second vertical video answering one (1) of the following prompts:
- Why do you want to be RugbyWA’s Junior Journalist?
- What would you ask someone at a rugby match?
- What do you love about rugby in WA?
- Videos must be original, filmed by the entrant, and clearly show the entrant speaking.
- Entries must be submitted via the official RugbyWA entry form.
- Entries for the Western Force Junior Journalist experience must be received by 11:59 PM AWST on 13 May, 2026.
- Entries received after 13 May 2026 may still be eligible for the Wallabies v Italy Junior Journalist experience, provided they are received by 11:59 PM AWST on 10 July 2026.
- Entries received after 6 July 2026 may still be eligible for the Wallabies v Springboks Junior Journalist experience, provided they are received by 11:59 PM AWST on 14 September 2026.
Winning Method
- Winners will be selected by RugbyWA Marketing Team from all eligible entries.
- Entries will be judged by a RugbyWA panel based on:
- Creativity and originality
- Communication style and clarity
- Passion for rugby and community engagement
- Selection for the Western Force Junior Journalist experience will take place on May 14, 2026 at RugbyWA Head Office, 203 Underwood Ave, Floreat WA 6014.
- Selection for the Wallabies v Italy Test Match Junior Journalist experience will take place on July 11, 2026 at RugbyWA Head Office, 203 Underwood Ave, Floreat WA 6014.
- Selection for the Wallabies v Springboks Junior Journalist experience will take place on September 15, 2026 at RugbyWA Head Office, 203 Underwood Ave, Floreat WA 6014.
- The promoter’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
Prize
- A total of six (6) winning students will be selected as Junior Journalists, comprising:
- Four (4) winners for the Western Force pre‑game press conference experience; and
- One (1) winner for each Wallabies Test Match Junior Journalist experience.
- Each winning student will receive:
- Four (4) tickets to their selected rugby event (two (2) adults and two (2) children).
- An exclusive Junior Journalist experience with RugbyWA, including content creation, fan interviews with a member of the RugbyWA Marketing Team.
- A feature on RugbyWA’s social media channels and/or website.
- Transport to and from the venue is at the winner’s and their guardian’s own expense. Travel, parking, meals, and accommodation are not included.
- All prize elements are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and not redeemable for cash.
- Winners must comply with all event venue rules and regulations.
Consent and Media Release
- By entering, the participant and their parent/guardian grant RugbyWA a royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide license to use the entrant’s name, voice, image, and submitted content in all media and platforms for promotional and publicity purposes.
- All content submitted must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe the intellectual property rights or privacy of any other party.
Conduct and Disqualification
- RugbyWA reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entries and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is misleading, unlawful, plagiarised, or otherwise in breach of these Terms and Conditions.
- Inappropriate, discriminatory, or offensive content will not be tolerated and will result in disqualification.
Privacy
- RugbyWA collects personal information for the purposes of conducting this competition and may use or disclose such information in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
- Parents or guardians may request access to or correction of their child’s personal information at any time.
- By entering, participants agree to these Terms & Conditions.
Cancellation or Amendment
- RugbyWA reserves the right to cancel, modify or suspend the campaign or its Terms and Conditions if unforeseen circumstances arise, without liability.
Unclaimed Prizes
- In the event of an unclaimed prize, the promoter may at its discretion assign the prize to the entry judged to be the next best entry. The promoter is under no obligation to award any unclaimed prize.
