RugbyWA is delighted to announce it will partner with SLW Transport for the U16 & U18 Junior State Girls Tour commencing in December.
In December, the selected members of the Under 16 and Under 18s Junior State Girls will travel to New South Wales to take on sides from NSW Junior Rugby Union and NSWJRU Pasifika. The tour will mark a vital step in building quality programs and experiences for young female athletes, and support those players involved in the touring teams in their rugby journeys.
SLW Transport is a Western Australian transport and logistic provider, servicing a vast range of clients with links to all types of industry. Great friends of rugby, SLW Transport partners with a number of local teams, in addition to the Western Force.
“RugbyWA is looking forward to working with SLW Transport to support this incredible tour and Junior Girls,” RugbyWA CEO, Simon Taylor said.
“With growing opportunities for Girls and Women within the sport, it is important to partner with local companies such as SLW Transport to secure the future of the sport, and to continue to provide such initiatives.”
Shane and Leanne Willcox from SLW Transport are thrilled to be part of this new Junior State Girls Tour.
“When we were approached, we didn’t hesitate to say yes,” Leanne said. “We believe this to be a great opportunity for these young ladies to experience a level of professionalism, and possibly ignite a fire to be a future Western Force Women’s Rugby player or a Wallaroo.”
“Our future is our youth, so it is crucial that we have programs that instill a culture to encourage growth both mentally and physically. For Shane and I, helping others achieve their goals and dreams gives us great joy.”
The U16 & U18 Junior State Girls Tour against NSWJRU and NSWJRU Pasifika will kick off on December 13, 2024.
