With over 450 registered coaches and 120 register match officials, RugbyWA and Rugby Australia are committed to providing education courses for all coaches and referees so they can deliver the correct training to players of all ages to create positive, nurturing, and fun environments in clubs and schools. 

We are committed to the continual growth of coaches and provide further opportunities for selected coaches within RugbyWA Performance programs to represent Western Australia on a national stage. 

Coaches are there to provide guidance to all players and facilitate their journey in the below categories: 

Each group has different requirements (see Rugby Australia Development Matrix) and it’s important to remember – As much as you want to coach the next future wallaby, most players need fun, guidance and support over winning a game. When all your players can execute basic rugby fundamentals consistently and represent the values of our game, you are on your way to winning. 

Every club needs to provide a safe, fun, and welcoming environment to ensure the continual growth of our game and quality development for our players and that starts with you, the coach. 

Without match officials, there is no game. Match Officials are a vital part of the rugby ecosystem, and ensure the game is played to a high standard, with safety at the forefront. It is vital for referees and referee coaches to receive the education and support necessary to continue in their journey throughout the competition grades, and to help the growth and development of rugby within Western Australia.
