As we get to the business end of the season who stood out in round eight’s Fortescue Premier Grade – Team of the Week.

1. Ethan Poi – Palmyra

Choosing this week’s front-row was all down to scrummage work and Ethan Poi definitely showed that this weekend.

Although the Joondalup Brothers scrum was strong Palmyra was just too dominant and that’s all thanks .

2. Scott Nicol - Wanneroo

It was Scott Nicol’s lineout throws that got him selected in this week’s TOTW, straight as an arrow.

Combine that with his ability to hold down the scrum and you have a well-rounded selection at hooker.

3. TJ Vunivalu – Wanneroo

Fancy footwork aside it was Vunivalu’s scrum work that stood out this weekend dominating the Perth Bayswater scrum up against the likes of young gun Dante Tatafu.

4. Michael Tafili - Associates

Two weeks in a row now that Tafili has impressed in this competition, get ready to see this man step up come finals time for the men in gold.

5. Ben Grant – Cottesloe

It’s taken a while for Ben Grant to jumpstart his season however against Southern Lions, Cottesloe’s line-out was strong.

Maybe playing alongside his little brother Will is the reason behind his recent good form.

6. Jacob Rumble – Kalamunda

Rumble is an absolute work horse on defence and this weekend he was no different.

Doing all the hard yards around the field Rumble was a standout in Kalamuda’s win over ARKs.

7. Sebastian Thogersen - Curtin University

No number seven this week commanded a selection in this team, but Thogersen try late in the game against Nedlands pushed him into the side.

Solid performance from the Dane.

8. Aidan Laxton – Nedlands

It was a toss of a coin between Laxton and Cottesloe’s Tobias Hoskins for this week’s selection, however yet another hattrick of tries, edges Laxton in front.

The number eight absolutely tore apart the Curtin Uni defence scoring at his will.

9. Lachie Phillips – Associates

Phillips has been very consistent week in week out since the start of the season however coming up against Western Force signee Rory O’Sullivan, Phillips put in an extra special performance.

Not being the biggest lad around the field, Phillips definitely knows how to put his body on the line for the betterment of the team.

10. Sheldon Tarawa - Joondalup

Yet again Tarawa as arguably the best player in the competition this round, his ability to put the ball anywhere he wants on the field with the boot is doing wonders for Joondalup’s field position.

Could Tarawa be the first ever player to get two Player of the Month awards in a row?

11. Adam Marshall – Palmyra

Marshall is the ultimate try finisher.

This guy seems to be on the end of every ball that comes his way, he is electric off first touch and is hard to stop off at the end of any set play.

12. Kitione Nairube – Kalamunda

Paired up with outside centre Faamanatu Apineru Kalamunda have formed one of the most dangerous centre partnerships in the competition, these two hard runners definitely should be feared.

The meterage Nairube gains on his centre hit ups is doing wonders in helping Kalamunda’s turnaround this season.

13. Christain Vainerere – Associates

Outside centre was by far the hardest position to choose this week.

Cottesloe’s Alastair Haining scored a hattrick and Faamanatu Apineru played dominant for Kalamunda.

However, it was the cheeky performance from Christain Vainerere that earns him a spot in this week’s TOTW.

He offloaded the ball well and danced around the UWA defence a really good pairing with new Soaks fly-half Luke Raduva.

14. Zachary Barrett – Wests Scarborough

In his first selection in this year’s TOTW, Zachary Barrett played the role of a winger perfectly last Saturday.

Barrett was fast, ran good support lines and finished off a number of tries really nicely.

15. Grason Makara - Wanneroo

Yet again this young Western Force signee was outstanding.

Ran beautiful lines, was solid in defence and scored a lot of points.

Don’t be surprised if Makara gets the call up into a blue jersey soon because with the performances he’s putting in, he certainly deserves it.
