In 2020 RugbyRoos looks to expand its reach aiming to capture more schools and club programs than ever before, kicking off with the announcement of 15 five-week programs to start in the new year.

Increasing its engagement with elite rugby all RugbyRoos programs will have appearances from Western Force players working alongside RugbyWA development officers to deliver the best program in the state for new and returning participants.

Alongside the programs run at local rugby clubs, RugbyRoos will travel to various schools introducing new players to the game and encouraging participants to join club rugby ahead of the 2020 RugbyWA Junior season.

RugbyWA Regional Development Manager Dane Lazarus praised the progress of the RugbyRoos program over the last two years and hopes the increased visibility of the program helps encourage more families to the sport.

“It’s great to be ahead of the game,” he said.

“We hoping to continue to grow rugby in the state and having 531 kids involved in 2019, we are looking to increase that going into 2020.”

With the RugbyRoos brand now established the program looks to emphasize its connection with grassroots and community rugby.

“We are looking to grow the profile of rugby,” Lazarus explained.

“Afterall rugby is a game for all and we want to show everyone in the state and country what our game can offer.”

“We want to get new kids and their parents understanding what rugby is and what it can bring to improving a community.”

“We hoping to create the understanding that RugbyRoos is a fun, safe and social environment for all families young and old.

“We want our clubs to become a social hub for all participants and supporters, emphasizing that the clubhouse is the place to be.”

The 2020 RugbyRoos campaign launched at Aubin Grove Primary School where Western Force players and RugbyWA staff announced the new programs alongside current participants and their families.

After such a great start, RugbyRoos and RugbyWA are still eager to sign up new school and club programs extending throughout the year.

Programs will kick-off in February, for more information and registrations details visit the RugbyRoos website.
