Fortescue Premier Grade livestreamed fixture

Associates vs Kalamunda, Allen Park. Odern Crescent, Swanbourne. Kick off at 3:30 pm.

For the live streamed matchup this week it will be a 2018 Grand-Final rematch between Associates Rugby Club and Kalamunda down at the Boneyard.

Associates will be holding their annual Old Boy’s Jersey Day during the fixture, urging their players to dust of their old jerseys and wear them down to Allen Park in support of the club.

Coming off a convincing win against the Joondalup Brothers last weekend the Soaks boys are slowly showing the talent again that we saw in their premiership winning squad last season.

New to the squad Facundo Aguirre has made a blast entering the Premier Grade for his first year scoring a spectacular try to close out last weekend’s match.

Kalamunda is a very different team to the one that we saw run out onto Pat O’Hara Reserve for last year’s Grand Final.

It seems a new generation of players are now emerging through the ranks with a lot of this Premier Grade team being colts.

The young Kalamunda squad won’t be led a stray however with captain and halfback Jack Weir leading from the front, despite being surprisingly young Weir holds an ample amount of experience in the game.

Nedlands vs Joondalup, The Foreshore. Cnr Broadway & Esplanade, Nedlands. Kick-off 3:30 pm.

After a fairly chippy matchup against UWA last weekend Nedlands will now want to fortify their new spot on the ladder with a dominant win over Joondalup.

Beating UWA by only three points last weekend Nedlands have now proved they are now the team to beat in the Fortescue Premier Grade playing an impressive brand of football.

This week’s visitors Joondalup can pull a lot of positives out of the performance against Associates last week including an impressive performance from prop Mathew De Beer.

However this week Joondalup will have to live without De Beer with his name being left out of the starting XV, Issac Cavu will take his place filling some very big shoes at the number three position.

Palmyra vs Perth Bayswater, Tompkins Park. Canning Highway, Alfred Cove. Kick-off 3:30 pm.

Two teams looking for redemption will face off this weekend as Palmyra hosts Perth Bayswater.

With both teams coming off losses, one would think that these two teams would be coming into this week with nothing to lose however with the coveted JT cup on the line this match will be hotly contested.

Young fullback Marcus Arindell has been on top of his game for ‘pally’ so far slotting into fullback he is a hard player to stop with the ball in hand.

In their attempt to stop Arindell there is no doubt this Perth Bayswater backline will return to form this week as they are led by fly-half Tyrese Grey.

Cottesloe vs ARKs, Harvey Field. Broome Street, Cottesloe. Kick off at 3:30 pm.

Cottesloe returned to form last weekend, beating a strong Kalamunda side by four points.

The ‘Gulls’ forward pack put Kalamunda’s scrums on skates dominating throughout the game with the winning score being a penalty try gifted by the referee.

This weekend they will need a repeat performance taking on a confident ARKs side.

After their dominant 10-point win over the Cavaliers last week, ARKs will now have their tails up running out onto Harvey field this Saturday.

Flanker Russell Burges is having yet another spectacular season controlling the ruck for the boys in red and white.

His ability to lead has made Burgess invaluable to his club it will be interesting to see what he can pull out of the bag this week.

Wests Scarborough vs UWA, Bennett Park. Millcrest Street, Doubleview. Kick-off 3:30 pm.

Yet another heavyweight clash this weekend as the inform Wests Scarborough Boars host the men from the library.

After a heartbreak loss at the hands of Nedlands last weekend UWA will now be raring to reclaim their top position on the ladder.

Facing such a talented side this weekend a win by UWA will prove to the Premier Grade that they are legitimate contenders for the title.

It won’t be easy for UWA facing fly-half Walter Koteka, the natural sevens player has a knack for controlling the backline and forcing the game to run at his own pace for his team.

The UWA backline will need to be on their toes if they want to avoid Koteka putting one his Boar teammates in space for the score.

Curtin Uni vs Wanneroo, Edinburgh Oval. Dumas Road, Bentley. Kick off at 3:30 pm.

The Goats are back at home this weekend facing a young and dangerous Wanneroo side.

Improving week by week, Curtin looked dangerous in the first half against Southern Lions last game, however their fitness couldn’t hold up as they were ran over by the Lions in the second half.

This week they will need watch this again if they hope to compete with the young ‘Roo-Dogs’ side.

With a lot of Senior Academy players running out in green and white it will be seriously hard to stop this well drilled side especially in the latter half of the match.

Coastal Cavaliers vs Southern Lions, Lark Hill. Warnbro Sound Avenue, Port Kennedy. Kick off at 3:30 pm.

The Coastal Cavaliers have been building strongly week by week since the start of the Premier Grade season, this week could be their chance to take their first game as they play host to the Southern Lions.

Even though the Lions have played exceptional as of late the absence of Western Force star Masivesi Dakuwaqa could have an impact on their backline.

Being at their Rockingham home of Lark Hill the Cavaliers have set them selves up for a strong performance running out a very strong XV.

No matter what the lineups, this matchup is sure to be a cracker and arguably the most hotly contested match in the Premier Garde this round it’ll be exciting to see the result come five o’clock Saturday afternoon.
