RugbyWA’s Get Into Rugby program is ideal for learning the basics of rugby providing the perfect steppingstone into junior competition.​

Get into Rugby is the official entry-level format for children aged 4 – 7 years. Get into Rugby empowers participants with the skills, understanding, and confidence to safely transition to Junior Rugby and beyond. Get into Rugby provides a space in which all participants can feel welcomed, and where regardless of experience or ability, can thrive and enjoy playing Rugby.

Get into Rugby offers two age-based streams to ensure that participants are provided with developmentally appropriate environments in which to learn the fundamental movement and core skills of Rugby.

Get Into Rugby will utilise the Tri Tag format to prepare participants for contact rugby, which will begin in regular competition from U8s.

Get into Rugby provides an evidenced-led, best-in-practice example for clubs to follow in creating a safe, fun and inclusive environment where children can learn to love and play Rugby. For assistance in setting up and/or promoting Get into Rugby at your club, click the link below.

Coaches within Get into Rugby are known as Game Activators. Anyone can be a Game Activator. More important than understanding the laws and technical aspects of Rugby, is knowing how to create a fun and memorable experience for participants.
