General Manager Commercial, Brand & Communications
A rare opportunity has become available in a newly created role as General Manager Commercial, Brand and Communications at RugbyWA.
Under the guidance of the newly appointed CEO, there are exciting times ahead….and this is your chance to be a part of it!
Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will be critical in support of RugbyWA’s purpose to “grow rugby participation and rugby talent in Western Australia through the inspiration of our people and services”.
This diverse role will involve these main areas of responsibility:
To proactively acquire and service RugbyWA’s commercial and government partners to deliver agreed business outcomes.
To ensure a high-quality client experience and ensure all business partnership opportunities are realised in accordance with partner and RugbyWA strategic objectives.
To increase the brand and profile of RugbyWA through targeted marketing.
To ensure effective delivery of all partnership and / or RugbyWA events (non-competition based); and
To work closely with WA rugby clubs, Rugby WA sponsors, affiliated bodies such as Rugby Australia, Western Force and the external media.
This role will oversee a small team including our Media Coordinator and Events and Communications Coordinator and will work very closely with the Community Department and as such we are looking for someone with exceptional leadership attributes who cares about people and relationships.
Who are you?
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and / or experience:
Proven experience in a senior management role – ideally in the sport and recreation industry.
Success in sponsorship, commercial partnerships, philanthropy and revenue diversification (and the ability to give us specific examples at interview to demonstrate this).
Exceptional business acumen with a proven track record of building revenue streams.
Experienced budget management skills.
Exceptional presentation experience.
Strong Marketing Technology skills including use of Salesforce.
In support of these skills, you have exceptional communication and negotiation skills coupled with knowledge of Rugby Union in Australia and / or and understanding of the state sporting environment.
It goes without saying that you’re a true team player that loves working with people and wants to work as part of a professional and hardworking organisation.
Not only will you support RugbyWA’s vision, purpose and values in the performance of your role, but you know that working with sport does not equate to a standard Monday to Friday 9-5 office-based role and you are happy to work outside of normal business hours including weekends throughout the year and possibly regional/ interstate trips.
An attractive salary of up to $120K + super (dependant on experience) is available for this role.
